How does it work?
It’s simple. As a grower, all you need to do is register, await your password to be sent by e-mail and then select the products that you may want to buy from your dealer. RainMaker costs you nothing and there is no commitment on your part. You negotiate prices and buy products the same as always with your dealer.
Who is RainMaker?
RainMaker is a service sponsored by your dealer. The administration of RainMaker is provided by XS, Inc., a company that’s been managing agricultural data and marketing programs since 1998.
Is there any risk involved?
There is no risk to use RainMaker. No money changes hands, there are no commitments and no information about you is sold, traded or provided to anyone.
Does RainMaker cost anything?
No. RainMaker is free of charge to growers.
Why do I have to change two products at a time in my bundle?
By bundling products, RainMaker enables suppliers to fund rebates that are difficult to tie back to any one product. By requiring that product changes be made in “twos”, the supplier is further protected against anyone learning what his contribution to the bundled rebate is.
Why do I have to wait 24 hours to make more than one bundle change?
Promotion levels and products change daily, almost like airline prices on-line. By requiring 24 hours between bundle changes (beyond one allowed change), rebate levels by product are kept discreet. Remember: you can change bundles as much as you like. It’s only by “Booking it” that the restrictions are imposed.
Does my dealer know about RainMaker?
Your dealer is sponsoring this service.
Who funds the rebates?
Suppliers of products; typically manufacturers
How will my rebate be paid?
Your dealer will send you a check, credit to your account or RainMaker will send you a check.
When will my rebate be paid?
Typically at year end but it will depend on the supplier and the dealer.
How is information about me used by RainMaker?
Your information is private and will only be used to fulfill rebates and establish promotions on RainMaker.
Who gets the rebate when purchases are made by one person on behalf of another?
The person who holds the account and is invoiced by the dealer.
